Lately I have not been able to download any new logon's or they appear in my studio with title but no preview and I can never apply the new download. I enjoy this feature very much and would be thankfull for any help.

Tried to help someone with this exact problem recently............. never found an answer orther than to manually unpack the logon to the LogonStudio directory. Now here's the really weird bit. When he upgraded XP Home to XP Pro, the problem went away. But I used XP Home, and have never had a problem.

This normally means that the proper logon file wasn't unzipped. Here's two ways to check.

1) Copy the original to your desktop. Change the logonxp extension to zip and unzip it. YOu will probably finda another logonxp file inside the zip, maybe two. Or you might find a logonxp file and a permission slip. If you find another logonxp file inside the zip, extract it and double click that one.

2) Or, click load and browse to the Logon Studio directory. Look for the theme folder which gives you the blank picture. If you see a Logonxp file in it, then this is the one you want to load.

Alternatively, give the name of a Logon that you are having problems with and we can look at it to see if any of these possible scenarios exist.

Chas.... I'm thinking this a different problem than what we normally see. I had a screenshot emailed to me that showed a new logon set as Active, but it did not appear int the list. I could install the same logon, with no problem, but nothing we tried worked for them, other than manually unpacking the thing.

Change the file extesion fron logonxp to zip. Unzip the file. Create a new folder (with the name of the logon) in the LogonStudio directory. Move the contents to the new folder. The logon should appear in the list.

.... first can you see the file extensions? (Do your files read skin.zip, readme.txt, logon.logonxp, or do they read skin, readme, logon) If you can't see the file extensions, open a folder and go to Tools > Folder Options > View tab. Un-check "Hide extensions for known file types". Click OK. Now tell me what you don't understand, so I can explain.
